Immediately before our Annual Meeting and Fall Social, Judge Mark Davis, Associate Justice of the North Carolina Supreme Court, will be presenting material from his forthcoming book: A Warren Court of Our Own: The Exum Court and the Expansion of Individual Rights in North Carolina. Judge Davis’ book explores in depth the pathbreaking nature of the Exum Court’s jurisprudence and the justices themselves in the hope of providing a better understanding of this unique and important period in the history of North Carolina’s highest court and how it fundamentally changed North Carolina law. This is a free CLE event and will count toward one (1) general hour (Please note: State Bar CLE fees ($3.50/hour) are the responsibility of the attendees and State Bar Certification is pending). After Judge Davis’ CLE, we will reconvene at Edward Teach Brewery for our Annual Meeting and Fall Social. In addition to socializing with your fellow members, we will address the following matters: (1) updating NHCBA’s bylaws; and (2) selecting NHCBA officers for the next year. - FREE TECHNOLOGY CLE – Thursday, 11/21/2019 at 4:00pm
This CLE is sponsored by TekMountain and will focus on physical network and cyber security best practices for your law firm. We will have a four-person technology expert panel of speakers to address security concerns for the modern practicing lawyer with a robust question and answer session. Speakers have graciously agreed to join us from Cyber Security Integration, ADT, and Castle Branch, Inc. Space is limited to 50 attendees. This is a free CLE event and will count toward one (1) technology hour (Please note: State Bar CLE fees ($3.50/hour) are the responsibility of the attendees and State Bar Certification is pending).
